Scion has released the new 2008 Scion xB and xD at the Chicago Auto Show.
xB: The new car is larger than the previous version and finally has more power. The car has been stretched and features the same 158 horsepower, 2.4l engine in the tC and Camry. Its extreme boxiness from the last generation has been rounded a bit.
xD: Its car replaces the slow selling xA, but it is built off the Yaris platform, also bigger than the old car and uses the same 128 horsepower, 1.8l engine as the Corolla. The rear seats also can slide back and forth six inches for extra legroom.
Both cars will come with a 160 watt stereo which is specifically designed for use with the iPod. They also only come in one trim level with the transmission type and stability control as the only options.
The Dodge Avenger has an all-American look reminiscent of a muscle car, including the slightly menacing grille, beefy fenders and the sloping roofline of the larger Dodge Charger.
The midsize sedan market is supercompetitive, with such players as Chevy’s Malibu, Ford’s Fusion, Honda’s Accord and Toyota’s Camry — some of the best-selling vehicles in the land. In recent years, Chrysler Corp.’s offerings in this segment, the Chrysler Sebring and the Dodge Stratus, seemed to be more popular with rental-car fleets than family-sedan buyers. Read more

Follow a prototype of the next-generation Honda Pilot has gone on display at the 2008 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit.
The similar in utility although larger than the CR-V sold in the UK, the Pilot is a midsized SUV aimed predominantly at on-road driving. Honda has redesigned the platform to give the 2009 Pilot better handling and ride comfort. The new Pilot will feature the Honda-exclusive Advanced Compatibility Engineering (ACE) body structure and the most extensive use of high-strength steel in any Honda product to date.

Following the announcement of revisions across the Mercedes-Benz SLK Roadster range, Mercedes-Benz has now revealed an update for the SLK 55 AMG.
The car features a redesigned front apron with a more pronounced arrow-shape including the modified Mercedes star, enlarged air dams and a black-painted transverse fin on the lower section. The large, round foglamps with chrome surrounds are now positioned further outwards. Specific AMG bodystyling also includes side skirts, the rear apron with a black insert and the spoiler lip.
